Morphometric Study of the Wild Population of Pool Barb, Puntius sophore (Hamilton, 1822) in the River Padma, Rajshahi, Bangladesh

Abstract
The study was carried out the morphometric relationships of wild Puntius sophore. All the specimens collected for the study were ranged from 7.2 to 10.6 cm in total length and from 5 to 17g in total weight. The relationships between different length parameters and length-weight were found highly significant with all “r” values ranged from 0.898 to 0.964. The regression equation of wild P. sophore showed symmetrical growth in relation to body. The values of the LLR equations clearly revealed that the lengths of the body parts are proportional to the total length. The result will be useful for fishery managers to impose adequate regulations for sustainable fishery management of Bangladesh neighboring countries.
